Dual CPT Pusher
At the heart of the Pioneer is Subsea Geo Tool’s dual pusher system, Gemini, which can push CPT cones, instrumentation and large diameter casing fully continuously at 60 mm/s whilst maintaining a full 200 kN pushing force.
When a greater pushing force is required, the dual pushers within Gemini can work in unison to achieve discontinuous pushing up to 300 kN, making Pioneer a CPT system of unrivaled capability.
Innovative Subframe
Pioneer is built around an innovative subframe that allows for ease of service and upgradability. Removing a series of locking bolts allows the outer shell to be lifted using the hoist frame leaving the major components of Pioneer easily accessible on the subframe.
Reduced connections between components make servicing and replacing modules as straightforward as possible.
Modular Design
Pioneer’s modular design ensures an adaptable, future-proof system with subsea cable reels, deck and subsea transformers, HD cameras and seismic sources just some of the modular add-ons available.
This modularity also allows the machine to be ballasted from dry weights of just 5 tonnes all the way to 37 tonnes allowing incredible project flexibility.
Ergonomic User-friendly Controls
With the Pioneer on the seabed up to 2000 m deep, the user relies on intuitive and informative control systems to ensure an effective operation. The Pioneer’s control panel combines ease of operation with excellent information feedback program flexibility. The inbuilt display allows a live view of all subsea systems including HD camera feeds.

A Complete Turnkey Solution
As well as the base Pioneer unit, Subsea Geo Tools provides all equipment needed for a turnkey geotechnical solution. This includes control cabins, working spaces, constant tension winches for umbilical handling and rod tensioning, and other geotechnical equipment, such as our powerful Explorer seabed drill system.
